Our Passion for Crafting
Hi, I'm Sarah! Knitting and crochet have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first learned to knit and crochet at the age of seven, taught by my mum, Mary, and my Aunty Aud. More than 50 years later, I still get the same enjoyment from creating something with my own hands and sharing those skills with others.
The Little Craft Hut is much more than a business. It's a dream that my mum and I always shared.
For many years, I sold my handmade creations at local craft fairs and markets, enjoying the opportunity to meet fellow crafters and share my passion for knitting and crochet. Deep down, however, I always dreamed of having a space dedicated to creativity, community and learning.
Sadly, my mum passed away in 2021 before we could make that dream a reality together. After much thought, I decided it was time to honour our shared ambition and take the leap.
In 2025, The Little Craft Hut opened its doors at Coolings Garden Centre in Sevenoaks. The shop has become a welcoming and creative space where people can browse beautiful yarns, learn new skills and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of crafting.

More Than Just a Wool Shop
At The Little Craft Hut, you'll find a carefully selected range of wool and yarn in a variety of colours alongside knitting and crochet workshops for adults and children.
Whether you're a complete beginner picking up a crochet hook for the first time or an experienced crafter looking for inspiration, my aim is to create a friendly and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome.
I believe crafting brings people together, encourages creativity and provides a wonderful opportunity to slow down and enjoy making something meaningful.
My Background
Before opening The Little Craft Hut, I worked in education as a tutor at Knole Academy in Sevenoaks.
My experience as a tutor has helped me develop a patient, encouraging and structured approach to learning, which is reflected in all of my knitting and crochet workshops.
I am DBS checked and enjoy working with children of all ages, delivering engaging workshops for schools, homeschool groups, families and holiday activities throughout Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas of Kent.
Supporting the Local Community
Alongside running the shop and delivering workshops, I volunteer every week at Emily Jackson's Care Home in Sevenoaks. Together with residents, we enjoy a variety of creative projects, including making pom-pom wreaths and knitting and crocheting poppies.
Seeing the positive impact that crafting can have on people's wellbeing, confidence and sense of achievement is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Come and say ‘Hello’
Whether you're looking to learn knitting or crochet, find quality wool and yarn, or would like a handmade gift, I'd love to welcome you to The Little Craft Hut
Pop in and say ‘hello’ at Coolings Garden Centre, Sevenoaks and discover a friendly creative community where everyone is welcome.

“The Little Craft Hut is a fabulous place. Sarah makes everyone feel welcome. The selection of yarns are great makes you feel like a kid in a sweet shop.
In the summer I went from no knowledge at all about crocheting to making a little purse for my equipment, then on to my first granny square blanket. Starting a new course next Saturday can’t wait. ”
